    This listings is for a genuine and original WWII German Army Sterbebild.
    Sterbebild are also known as Funeral Cards or Death Notices.
    The vast majority of Germans in World War II were Catholics.
    Like many funeral services today, a small card (usually baseball card size) were printed with a photo and brief history of the deceased.
    This custom has existed for several centuries and was very prevalent during the Second World War.
    These particular card was printed in remembrance of:
    August Dunzinger
    August was a party member as denoted on the card and the lapel pin in his photo.
    He served as a Sergeant and Supply Driver in a Paratroop Battalion.
    He was awarded the War Merit Cross and also the Eastern Front medal.
    August fell on January 10, 1944 in south Italy at the age of 39.
