    This listings is for a genuine and original WWII German Army Sterbebild.
    Sterbebild are also known as Funeral Cards or Death Notices.
    The vast majority of Germans in World War II were Catholics.
    Like many funeral services today, a small card (usually baseball card size) were printed with a photo and brief history of the deceased.
    This custom has existed for several centuries and was very prevalent during the Second World War.
    This particular card was printed in remembrance of:
    Georg
    Dobmeier
    George was a Sergeant in a Motorized Infantry Regiment as well as serving as a Musician and Standard-Bearer - a very prestigious position!
    He was awarded the Iron Cross 1st and 2nd Classes and a Wound Badge.
    He fell during the heavy fighting north of Warsaw, Poland on October 10, 1944 at the age of 20.
