Dala-fandyr[1] (oset. dala faindyr) is an Ossetian folk instrument of the plucked family, the sounds on which are extracted by quickly "brushing" the strings, "rattling" or "clicking" on them with the index, middle and ring fingers of the right hand. The length is 81 cm. the case is made of stacked birch in two layers.
The Dala-fændyr is a "solo-accompanying" instrument.
