    Description

    Here is a very large sterling silver skeleton key bottle/wine opener.  This piece opens to reveal a corkscrew for opening wine, and the eye of the key is fitted to open bottles. Signed by Welsch, a prominent Peruvian silversmith. The key is 8" long and 357.34 grams in total weight. It is marked Peru, Welsch, 925, along with a llama hallmark.  The corkscrew and opening lever are metal; the remaining structure is sterling silver.  The total weight given includes the non-sterling parts.
    The piece is in very good condition with light wear and some light tarnishing.  The corkscrew has some rust - I did not attempt to clean it in any way.
